Reporting presence for short stays (<3 months) – Czechia

After arriving in the Czech Republic, EU nationals and their family members are required to report their place of residence to the appropriate Police Department if the length of their intended stay in the Czech Republic is longer than 30 days.

This also applies to the family members of any EU citizen resident in the Czech Republic.

This does not apply to foreign nationals if the person providing accommodation submits the registration forms on their behalf.

The person providing the accommodation can report their visitor's place of residence to the Foreign Police Department of their local Regional Police Directorate (if the foreign national is staying at their home). If the foreign national is staying in a hotel or any other paid accommodation, the obligation to report lies with the accommodation provider.
