Expired or lost passports – Cyprus

Coronavirus: safely resuming travel

Questions on a specific country?

An expired passport is not accepted as a valid travel document to enter or leave Cyprus, with the exception of Cypriot citizens who will be allowed to (re-) enter their territory.

Cyprus does not allow EU (or any other) nationals to enter or leave the country with an expired passport regardless of whether they were previously resident there. However, EU nationals can enter Cyprus if they are in possession of a valid ID card. If EU nationals cannot produce valid travel documents, they will be given the opportunity to obtain them with a reasonable period of time or prove their citizenship and nationality by other means.
