Tools & databases
A number of useful services exist at EU level to help you with the tendering procedure:
Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) is the online version of the 'Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union', where tenders falling under EU-rules are published. TED provides free access to business opportunities, and is updated five times a week with approximately 1500 public procurement notices.
National procurement databases
A section on SIMAP - the European public procurement portal - provides access to all national procurement databases.
Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV)
In the TED database the public tender notices refer to certain numerical codes. These codes represent the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) that consists of 2 parts:
- a main part, namely 8-digit codes referring to different activities
- a supplementary part which further categorises the services or goods subject to public procurement.
For the correspondence between CPV and other nomenclatures, consult the correspondence table [5 MB] .
This is an information tool that helps you identify the different certificates and attestations frequently requested in procurement procedures in the 28 EU countries, Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. It is a reference tool based on data provided by the public authorities in the different countries but cannot be used as legal advice.
