Expired or lost passports – Lithuania

Whatever your nationality, an expired passport is not accepted as a valid travel document to enter or leave Lithuania.

However, Lithuanian nationals temporarily visiting another country and wishing to return to Lithuania with an expired passport are advised to request an Emergency Travel document from the Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate (or the embassy/consulate of any other EU country in countries outside the EU). This will be valid for the time necessary to complete the return trip but its validity cannot exceed 30 days.
