During the 4 years I have lived in Portugal, I got seriously ill and left the country for 11 months to be treated in my home country. Will this affect the continuity of my residence in Portugal next year when I should get the right of permanent residence?
NO – The continuity of your residence in Portugal is not affected by one absence for a maximum of 12 consecutive months for important reasons such as serious illness.
I was issued a permanent residence card, and it is valid for 10 years. Do I have to re-apply for a residence card in 10 years' time?
