I'm in the process of adopting a child from another EU country. Will the child automatically acquire the citizenship of my EU country of residence once the adoption process is complete?
NO - The rules on the acquisition of nationality are different in each EU country: some EU countries automatically grant foreign children citizenship on adoption and others don't. Check the procedure to follow with your national authorities.
