To ensure safe travel, EU countries have agreed on a co-ordinated approach to free movement restrictions in response to the coronavirus pandemic. EU rules now take into account your COVID-19 status as proved by a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate.

Can I transit this country?

Facemasks and respirators are worn in health care and social care facilities. They are recommended for use on public transport.

Facemasks are recommended when using public transportation.

Quarantine

Persons exposed to the virus, and those who test positive, must isolate at home for 7 days, unless they obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no earlier than the 7th day of confinement.

Information on 'EU Digital COVID Certificates' issued in Latvia

Providing proof of vaccination, recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test result is not required to access indoor facilities or use public spaces. Please consult the Measures section for further details.

The 'EU Digital COVID Certificate' (EUDCC) is digital proof, valid in all EU countries, that a person has either been vaccinated against COVID-19, has recovered from COVID-19, or has received a negative test result. National authorities are responsible for issuing the certificate.
