Use of facemasks
The use of facemasks is only required in health facilities and on public transport.
Physical Distancing
Citizens are encouraged to apply physical distance rules everywhere. Special social distancing rules have been set for a wide range of places.
Precautionary measures may be subject to variations according to the epidemiological level of the different Regional Units.
Safety measures for public transportation
Wearing facemasks is compulsory on public transport, except on trains, airplanes and long-distance buses.
Quarantine
Travellers who develop severe symptoms of COVID-19 must notify the hotel reception or the doctor on-call, who will provide advice on the necessary steps, and self-isolate for at least 5 days.
Self-isolation is recommended for travellers who have mild or no symptoms. They must wear FFP2 or KN95 facemasks on public transport.

In Greece, providing proof of vaccination, recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test result is not required to access public places.

The 'EU Digital COVID Certificate' (EUDCC) is digital proof, valid in all EU countries, that a person has either been vaccinated against COVID-19, has recovered from COVID-19, or has received a negative test result. National authorities are responsible for issuing the certificate.
