FAQs - Ship passenger rights

I booked a mini-cruise on Lake Como which was scheduled to last for three hours. The excursion was cancelled just one hour before it was due to depart. Do I have a right to compensation for the cancellation? Open Close

NO - as this was an excursion or sightseeing tour which is not covered by the EU rules.

My family and I were travelling from Roscoff to Rosslare but departure of the ship was delayed for forty eight hours due to a problem with the engine. We found modest accommodation in a nearby hotel but the shipping reimbursed us only €80 per night per person. We had paid much more than this. Is the shipping company obliged to refund the full amount of our accommodation? Open Close

NO - The shipping company may limit the cost of accommodation to €80 per person per night.
