I am German and have been looking for a job in the UK for over 8 months. My Chinese wife who accompanied me to the UK was refused a residence card, and was asked to leave the country, given that I am still unemployed. Can she be expelled from the UK?

As long as you can provide evidence that you are continuing to seek employment and that you have a genuine chance of being recruited, your wife may not be expelled from the UK.
