Il 20 giugno abbiamo ospitato il convegno “Terra fertile e cambiamento climatico, il ruolo degli agricoltori”. L’attività agricola ha sempre svolto nella storia due funzioni: quella produttrice di beni e servizi e quella riproduttrice della fertilità. Quando queste due funzioni sono in armonia si ha sviluppo sostenibile, quando sono squilibrate si ha nel medio lungo periodo la desertificazione.

On 19 June, we hosted the event “Working for growth: What role for beer and brewers?”   

On 18 June, we hosted the event Carbon Storage in Soil and Its Role in Supporting Agriculture. Research on soil organic matter (SOM) turnover has attracted a great deal of attention in the last two decades since the maintenance of soil quality and fertility is one of the main current global challenges and for economic and environmental reasons.

On 17 June, we hosted a presentation of activities and results of six selected EU-funded projects addressing water scarcity and water-use in crop production.

Projects: CLIMAFRICA, WAHARA, EAU4FOOD, MARS, GLOBAQUA, FIGARO. The overall common goal of the six projects presented is the improvement of water monitoring, water management and the efficient use of fresh water in European and African irrigated agriculture.

On 17 June, we hosted the event Water-Safe and efficient water systems for the citizens of the world. This Water JPI event focussed on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda of the Water JPI and in particular on two of the five core themes identified as water challenges:
