Climate change and food security: challenges for plant health, plant breeding and genetic resources

Following the publication of the Commission's package "Healthier Animals and Plants for a Safer Food Chain" and focusing on the Expo theme "Feeding the planet, Energy for Life", a debate will be launched on challenges of climate change and food security in relation to emerging risks on plant health, more targeted plant breeding and conservation of genetic resources. Stakeholders' input may be used in the development of future policies for sustainable plant breeding and use of genetic resources and to address plant health issues.
