Grand debate on Nutrition Security – a whole system approach

It was a pleasure to host the "Grand debate on Nutrition Security – a whole system approach" A joint JPI FACCEJPI HDHL EVENT on the impact of climate change on providing a sustainable food supply that has the nutritional requirements to ensure a healthy population.

One of the greatest challenges of the 21st century is on providing nutrition security while dealing with climate change. Often the focus of the debate and research is limited to food security – however access to food and the consumption of safe and nutritious food are important aspects of this challenge. The World Food Summit defined food security as existing when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

The objective of the event was to achieve a dialogue both on international and national level on the challenge we are facing to provide our future population with a  sustainable food supply that has the nutritional requirements to ensure a healthy population.
