Internationale Grüne Woche Berlin: our thematic week

Starting from tomorrow, 16 January, until the 25 January, we will be following the development of the "International Green Week 2015".

Established in 1926, International Green Week is taking place for the 80th time this year: it is a one-of-a-kind international exhibition for the food, agricultural and horticultural industries. At the same time, the IGW is the point of origin for the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), with more than 65 departmental ministers. Producers from all over the world come to IGW to test market food and luxury items and reinforce their brand image. Following consumer trends, regional sourcing plays an increasingly important role. Renewable resources, organic agricultural, rural development and gardening continue to gain importance at IGW.

IGW offers a unique opportunity for debate and exchanges of experience and best practice. Over the past decades, the conference has established itself as an unmissable event for anyone involved with protecting the environment.

EU at Expo 2015 will be closely following the further advancements of this debate online: we will host a "Thematic Week" on our social media, providing an overall communication on the main themes and collecting information from different EU sources - from "Agriculture and Rural Development" (DG AGRI) to "Health and Consumer Affairs" (DG SANTE), and the official online website of the event.

To take part to the debate, you can follow our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts and, to be constantly updated on what is going, check out the official hashtags #IGW2015 and #EUatGreenWeek.
