VP Kristalina Georgieva visit to Expo Milan

After her visit to the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Vice President Kristalina Georgieva visited the EU pavilion at Expo on Friday 10/7 afternoon. Besides Mr Sucha and Mr Wilkinson, she was welcomed by the Erasmus+ volunteers who accompanied her through the visitor's experience explaining the different parts of The Golden Ear show. She then took part in the Expo event "Women for Expo" where she participated in a round table with former Commissioner Emma Bonino and Italy's Minister for Reform Maria Elena Boschi on the central role of women for contributing to solve the challenge of feeding an increasingly populated planet.  

The event was preceded by a parade where female representatives from all Expo participating countries and organisations took part (there were three of the EU volunteers) and brought food dishes to a long table. The event closed very late and Ms Georgieva came back to the EU pavilion to watch the show of tree of life.
