The JRC, in close collaboration with scientists and policy makers from the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP) and other key international organisations, is organising a conference on 'Sustainable food production and air pollution: reducing emissions generates many benefits', which will be held on the morning of 10 July 2015, in the Barceló Hotel, Milan.

Four keynote lectures will be given on the interactions between sustainable food production and air pollution, the benefits of sustainable agriculture for health, ecosystems and climate, and potential solutions that lead to lower levels of air pollution and increased crop production, while avoiding other trade-offs. Roundtable discussion will focus on future actions to control rising levels of air pollution with benefits for food production, as well as the potential for reducing the influence of agriculture on air pollution, the value of regional cooperative efforts, and the role of global institutions in raising awareness.

Registration is free, and can be made through the JRC's Register for Events Module. Given the restricted number of seats in the meeting room, we can accept a maximum of 80 registrations. If accepted, you will be contacted by the workshop organisers.
