EU research and global food and nutrition security

"EU research and global food and nutrition security" is a LinkedIn group opened to boost a global scientific debate on Expo 2015's main themes – from food and nutrition security to sustainable production.

Its main aim is to try to answer the question "How can we sustainably feed 9 billion people by 2015?": the discussion, opened now and lasting until the end of the event, is intended to provide a contribution to the legacy of the World Expo.

Our online presence on this new platform, placed in the context of Expo 2015 and the European Year of Development, aims at providing the European Union's official institutional opinion on the issues at stake and it will promote the involvement of policy experts, scientists, academics, private businesses, business associations,  public institutions, journalists and private citizens, and of anybody who has an interest in the realms of food and nutrition.

The platform gives prominence to the European Union's scientific and policy contribution in the field of food at different levels of governance: locally, nationally, supranational and global level.
