Following the publication of the Commission's package "Healthier Animals and Plants for a Safer Food Chain" and focusing on the Expo theme "Feeding the planet, Energy for Life", a debate will be launched on challenges of climate change and food security in relation to emerging risks on plant heal

In recent years, an increased prevalence and a significant year-to-year variation of the presence mycotoxins in feed and food in the European region can be observed. Climate change and extreme weather conditions are considered to be the main cause.

The event aims at having an exchange of views between competent Authorities, small producers and EU Commission on the application of the flexibility rules foreseen in the EU hygiene legislation after 10 years from the publication of the so called hygiene package.

Conference and business meetings organized in collaboration with the EEN on agro-food manufacturing and health bio technologies.

The need to protect the available fertile soils form degradation processes and preserve the basis for food production for future generations.
