Supporting documents

Enrolment

Below are the documents to be provided for CPE enrolment:

  • Certificate from the institution (mandatory)

    Certificate specifying the status of the paying parent (official or agent) and listing any dependent children and their dates of birth (the same document is available for the European School).

    Specific case:
    Employment contract taking effect at a later date: attach the job offer (specifying the salary), a projected salary, and upload a self-declaration indicating any dependent children and their dates of birth.

  • Latest payslip of the paying parent (mandatory)

    If the employment contract takes effect at a later date: attach the job offer specifying the salary and a salary simulation.

    If you are a Seconded National Expert (SNE): national salary and allowances from the European institution.


  • Working time less than 100%

    Attach proof of the work pattern and the period (start and end date) of part-time work, validated by the employer.

  • Second member of the household’s latest payslip/other supporting document or self-declaration “single-parent family” (mandatory)

    If second member of the household:

    In the case of full-time or part-time work, attach the latest payslip.

    Specific cases:
    • If the employment contract takes effect at a later date: attach the job offer specifying the salary and a salary simulation.

    • If a parent is self-employed: attach the income tax statement for the previous year, the certificate of membership of the social security system, and the self-declaration "Self-employed partner".

    • If a parent is unemployed, attach a document specifying the amount of the benefit received or a document proving the absence of entitlement, failing that, attach the self-declaration "Unemployed partner"

    • In any other case: (training, traineeship or internship, retirement, disability, etc.), attach a document certifying the partner’s situation.

    If single-parent family:

    Attach the self-declaration "Single-parent family".

  • In the event of divorce

    Please attach the following:
    • the divorce decree, stating the amount of any maintenance allowances, custody and visitation rights,
    • if relevant, a bank statement showing any maintenance allowances received or paid,
    • the payslips of both parents in the case of shared custody,
    • in the case of the child residing mainly with one of the parents, the payslips from the household of the registering/paying parent




Professional situation

The following documents must be provided in the event of a change in work situation:

  • Staff covered by the Staff Regulations: change of institution
    • Certificate from the institution
    • Most recent payslip
    • If your working time is less than 100%, proof of the work pattern and the period (start and end date) of part-time work, issued by the employer

    If you are a Seconded National Expert (SNE): national salary and allowances paid by the EU institution

  • Staff covered by the Staff Regulations: leave on personal grounds (CCP)
    • Official document issued by the institution confirming the dates of the CCP
  • Retirement
    • Most recent payslip/monthly pension sheet
  • Private employee: change of employer
    • Contract of employment
    • Payslip
  • Self-employed persons: change of activity
    • Self-declaration "Unemployed partner"
    • Certificate of registration at the national competent administration
  • Unemployment
    • Benefit received or a document proving the absence of entitlement

For all the cases mentioned above, please also provide the most recent payslip of the other member of the household (if applicable).


Income

In the case of a change in income, the documents to be provided are:

  • Change of grade/promotion
    • Payslip, or if not available, job offer with salary
  • Parental leave/part-time for more than 3 consecutive months
    • Screenshot of dates (start and end) and part-time pay
  • If working less than 100%
    • Proof of employer with the work pattern and period
  • If self-employed
    • Tax statement + social security certificate + the self-declaration "Self-employed partner".
  • If newly self-employed person
    • Certificate of registration at the national competent administration
    • Self-declaration including income and estimated number of hours

For all the cases mentioned above, please also provide the most recent payslip of the other member of the household (if applicable).


Personal information

If you wish to update your personal data, the documents to be provided are:

  • Change of surname
    • Document proving the change
  • Change in marital status
    • Marriage: marriage certificate
    • Recognised partnership: partnership certificate
    • Recognised cohabitation: any supporting document proving that the couple are living at the same address
    • Widowed person: death certificate and income update (if deceased parent worked in the institutions, survivor’s pension)
    • Divorced person: divorce decree stating the amount of any maintenance allowances, custody and visitation rights

Self-declarations
