A contest of short films shot with cameras or mobile phones will be launched starting from February. The theme of the pocket films must be related to the European Union.

Erich Lessing´s photos
75 photos of the world famous Austrian photographer Erich Lessing will be displayed in Estonian towns in April-September 2007. Exhibition of photos reflecting the important events and personalities in Europe’s history is part of Treaty of Rome’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Estonia.

“Greenwave” forest-planting action
Helping the environment by planting new trees! From April to May, volunteers throughout Estonia will celebrate Europe by participating in planting events, with the action culminating on 4 May.
The Open Doors Event emphasizes the EU as an assembly of nations and of differing institutions by opening the doors of member states’ embassies as well as of the Estonian state chancellery and the European Commission Representation and European Parliament Information office to the public.

Europe Day will be celebrated with public events in six Estonian towns on 9
May 2007. Traditionally, the events will be organised in the town centres with
a cultural programme, quizzes, speeches and dissemination of information about
the EU and Europe in general.
