EU with YOU: 1957-2007

As part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Rome Treaties, the European Movement-Belgium is organising special events for the general public at the Val Duchesse, where the doors will open to the public on 15, 16 and 17 September 2007.

EU with YOU: a unique experience in three European capitals as part of a transnational project run by the International section of the European Movement, with three extraordinary locations opening their doors: Val Duchesse (Brussels), Quai d’Orsay (Paris) and Saint Angelo’s Castle (Rome). 

Saturday 15 September

morning: Opening for invited guests (sponsors, public figures & press)

2pm-5pm: Open to the general public

Sunday 16 September

10am-5pm: Open to the general public

Monday 17 September

10am-3pm: Open to schools

ACTIVITIES

  • Educational tour through the park: introduction to the Treaty of Rome, the Common Market, the Institutions…
  • Guided tours (FR/NL) and unaccompanied tours of the castle
  • Exhibition in the priory
  • European fairytales alongside the chapel
  • Information stands for discovering the 27 member states
  • Entertaining and educational activities for discovering Europe: webmaton, European activity coordinators and various events in the grounds

Opening the doors to the general public is being organised as part of the Heritage Days programme and its theme of light
