On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, it’s time both to look back as to look into the future. 50 years ago, the European Union as we know it has begun. And it goes on and on and on – but where does it go to?
In the framework of a nationwide tour through more than 50 major German cities, European and German institutions want to enter a dialogue with the citizens. Two pavilions and a lot of added attractions will host presentations, debates, games and shows to attract the people. There will be information material by the truck load, and there will be local, regional, national and European politicians available to meet their electorate. How do Germans want to see the EU develop? The people of Berlin and Aachen, of Munich and Hamburg will tell us.
The tour started on the Anniversary day, 25 March 2007, will climax during the "European Week" around 9 May, and end in late June. See the tour plan
