project description

The social community center helps people in difficult and insecure social situations. First of all families, older persons, unemployed people and people with handicaps. The CCAS is fighting for inclusion and helps therefore with food support and accommodations. Especially for the children, we have a vast offer. We have nursery, childcare, after school daycare center and a leisure center. Besides we offer some summer holiday activities and give some support at school.
The EVS volunteer will co-animate together with a professional teamer the different activities for the children age from 3 to 12. After a first adaption phase, the volunteer will have the chance to propose own activities for some animations. Besides, the EVS volunteer can organise some traditional games from his/her home country and some traditional food events.

accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live together with another volunteer in the center of the village Plonéour-Lanvern. Plonéour-Lanvern has about 6.000 inhabitants. Everyone will have his/ her own sleeping room, but they will share the kitchen and the bathroom. The volunteer will eat lunch at the center and he/she will get some money for breakfast and dinner. The beach is just five kilometers away from the appartment and its famous for swimming, surfing and land sailing.

training during the project

At the beginning the volunteer will participate in an "On-Arrival-Training" where he or she will meet all the EVS volunteers who are at the same time in France. There will be a "Mid-term seminar", as well. Besides, the Erasmus+ online course, there will be a French language class once a week. Furthermore, the five volunteers will meet once a week at one of the five associations to exchange experience, work on common projects, discover the city Quimper and the Bretagne.

volunteer profile

We are looking forward to an EVS volunteer who likes to discover a new culture, to work in a team, who is dynamic, takes responsibility and shows initiative in proposing activities for the children and teenagers. This will give more autonomy to the volunteers and help them to get to know other people more easily.
