Educational activities in a secondary school: SW France

The secondary school Pierre Emmanuel is an innovative public secondary school hosting students from 11 to 15. It is a boarding school where French and Spanish students are hosted (240 in total with 120 boarders). Youngsters from 16 to 18 are also hosted to support the students.
The work is organized around motivating projects inside the school and are base on cross-disciplinary activities.
The volunteers who will be hosted within the secondary school Pierre Emmanuel will mainly be involved in activities of animation.
They will be directly in contact with the students in order to implement educational activities (during the school time or extracurricular) and/or activities about citizenship. It will be for example participate in school excursion, supporting students who want to lead their own project… They will also have the possibility to support the students by doing extra-tutoring but also by organizing cultural activities (theatre, music, digital activities, video projects…).

accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be hosted in flats in Pau. They will have access to local transports. The volunteers will take lunch inside the school from Monday to Friday and will receive money for the other meals of the weeks (breakfast, dinners and all the meals during the week-ends and school holidays).

The applicants will have to be open-minded, motivated and interested in the topics of the project, such as:
- High interest in youth and animation
- First experience and/or having been in contact with young people
- Enjoy with team-working and working with people from different backgrounds
- Adaptation and flexibility in order to participate in specific projects.

Notion of French and Spanish will be an asset. A native English speaker will be highly appreciated.
