LIVE and WORK in the oneworld house Magdeburg - AGSA e.V.

The Auslandsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt (AGSA) is an NGO organization with more than 30 member organizations in the areas of development policy, European and international exchanges and the integration of immigrants into German society. We offer the volunteers to take part on activities such as: educational work in development policy, tolerance between people with different cultural background, consultation of migrants and promotion of refugee protection, immigration and integration.
Every summer AGSA organizes "Eurocamp" - an international youth project with approx. 70 participants from over 30 European countries. The volunteers are involved in organizing, preparing and documentation of Eurocamp.
The volunteers participates in activities in local community: organization of Language café, planning and organizing events for democracy, tolerance and Europe, editorial work on our website, social networks and publications, informing young people about opportunities in Europe.


modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The project is located in Magdeburg, the capital of Sachsen-Anhalt. The accommodation for the volunteers is a shared community-flat, shared with European volunteers from ours and partner organizations. The volunteers will have their own room and share kitchen and bathroom with flat mates. Food money will be paid out to you every 1st of the month, the pocket money will be paid out on 15h every month as well as money to buy the local transportation monthly ticket, or instead you can get a bike.

The volunteers will be supported by mentor during the non-formal learning process. The volunteers will be sent to the on arrival training and the obligatory mid-term-meeting organized by the National Agency. Volunteers with little or no knowledge of German language will be able to attend an intensive three-week language course and thereafter all volunteers will be able to attend a weekly course.

We expect our volunteers to be able to work as part of a team, to work on their own initiative, to be creative and to have fun in trying out themselves. They should be open to new things and be interested in international and political work. Specific interests towards antiracism work and intercultural work or cultural interests or working with internet and photo/ video are an advantage, but not a condition. The young people shall be prepared to have flexible working ours and weekend work, with the possibility to make up for it.

Besides the duties related to each project, we offer every of our 10 European volunteers in 6 projects to take part in other common activities, such as:
- Language Café, a meeting place for native speakers
- activities and projects for democracy and tolerance in the local community (Mile for Democracy, Day of Sachsen-Anhalt, Europe week, Intercultural week and more)
- organize welcoming activities for refugees and other foreign people
- support the cooperation between the partner cities of Magdeburg
- share your experience together with other volunteers on our website and social networks
