Cultural learning in beautiful environment

project description

Our project is called Help your future II. It takes place in Banská Stiavnica, in central Slovakia in UNESCO heritage list. Most of the activities are tourning around reconstruction of calvary church complex, the dominant of the city. The EVS volunteers are basicly working either as guides in small exhibition in one of the churches or helping with various tasks connected with maintanace of the area. The volunteers are also part of seasonal workcamps during which they help with managment of short-term group of volunteers.
In summer we are also running scout campsite in mountains where EVS volunteers are working around mainanance of the whole site - building wooden halls, kitchens, cutting grass and various other manual works. Beside that, during the year, we are involved in various other activities connected mainly with tourism in the town - we organise small community events, help to manage local urban development ect,


accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers lives in 3 flat house - from 2 to max. 4 people at one time. The flat is located directly in the centre of the town. Distance to the Calvary is 20 min walking or in some cases we use our company car. Local bus transport is available as well. Total food contribution and poctet money is 260 € per month.

Language course - slovak (using on-line language support) and possibility to attent on another language
On - arrival and mid-term
other trainings depending on the volunteer preferences


volunteer profile

Willing to learn new things, tollerant to different personalities, ready to work manually, Independent, ability to communicate in english, slovak or russian. Age 18-30.
