The Finnish Association of Nature Conservation (FANC, in Finnish Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto) is the largest, most influential environmental NGO in Finland, with more than 30 000 individual members. It is a grassroots organization with 15 regional chapters and more than 200 local groups, who work actively to promote nature conservation and ecological sustainability on a local level.

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation is active at local, national and international level.

The national focus is on biodiversity (forests, water, agriculture), natural resources (mining) and climate & energy (anti-nuclear, pro renewables)

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation participates in international cooperation especially with the environmental NGOs in the Baltic Sea area, in North-West Russia and in the European Union. The main emphasis has been on raising public awareness on global environmental issues and since 1995, when Finland entered the European Union, to influence European policymaking.

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation is a member of the international organization Coalition Clean Baltic, CCB (a coalition of environmental NGOs in the Baltic Sea countries), the European Environmental Bureau, EEB (a federation of 132 citizens' environmental organizations in Europe), the World Conservation Union - IUCN, the Climate Action Network, CAN and the Taiga Rescue Network, TRN (a network of NGOs, Indigenous Peoples and Nations working for the protection and sustainable use of the Boreal Forests).

As a sending organization, we work 'demand driven" and focus on activitities related to nature and environment, but we are open for other types of cooperation as well.
