Forumul Tanar din Odorhei

description of organisation

The Youth Forum is a constantly growing association where young volunteers can fully discover and develop their potential, their skills and abilities. Through the European Voluntary Service we intend to promote European culture and diversity among local communities, our goal being the exchange of quality experience and good practices with European NGO-s in various topics, mainly in voluntary services, to explore the European voluntary systems and techniques in order to promote European youth policies, culture and diversity. We intend to extend our voluntary cooperation into new sectors and with different youth groups such are the European Union, various institutions working with formal and non-formal education, young workers, young entrepreneurs etc.We participate for the second time (Erasmus+) in the EVS program, in this order we have the necessary experience in hosting and sending volunteers, as well as in coordinating voluntary activities, as our organization’s everyday activity involves volunteers who work on specific projects and programs.Since 1990 the Youth Forum of Odorhei (next YFO or the Youth Forum), as an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization, works to strengthen the civil society, the role of active youth citizenship in local community’s development and initiates, supports and organizes international youth co-operation as well. Furthermore the YFO’s activities are realized in a framework of the following main goals: youth mobility, encouragement of local and international voluntarism, development of local civil society, European information and awareness, representation of youth interests on national and international level, help for the co-operation between our members, care for Hungarian tradition and culture, environmental protection and international youth cooperation of local youth structures.Activities in framework of civil society development, active youth citizenship, care for Hungarian tradition and culture, environmental protection, cooperation between members and all are mainly programs for youth organizations and youth groups’ and contains basically different events, courses and seminars, info sessions, cultural, folklore and sports programs and so one. Themes of training courses we realize are: project management, fundraising, organizational development, communication, public relation, human resources etc. With our programs we aim to raise the youth participation on every level. Our target group is formed by young, active and motivated people from our region and our activities are focused on youth organizations and different youth groups. Our programs prepare young leaders for successful implementation of their own projects for local society through engaging them into project development, training courses and consultations.Activities in framework of international youth cooperation development, European information and awareness are grouped around the Europe Direct Information Centre hosted at the YFO. We have co-realized projects, which aims at contact making, international exchange of experience and knowledge. These are seminars, training courses and youth exchanges. All the activities are constructed in a special interactive way which allows young people to get involved in their realization. Furthermore we try to give them tools and consultation for their own international project’s development. Some of the projects are also made together with our foreign partners from abroad. The international cooperation activities of the YFO are focused on the European region. However we are open for co-operation with all democratic countries. From the beginning of its activities YFO organized several international projects in Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovacia and Serbia with several participants from different European countries. All these activities were supported by the European Commission’s various programs and some Hungarian and domestic foundations which give funding for international youth projects. All interested volunteers can read about our activity on our website:
