Bodrum Dance Club Association
(Bodrum Youth Culture and Art Centre)
Our assiciation was accredited in 2009 in Bodrum.By the year of 2011 we had finished 9 months long term EVS project. As we are a voluntary based organization our two volunteers found chance to share their voluntary work experience in an inter cultural environment in our society and also they gained new experiences as well. In this time period we had organized several EVS introduction seminars in towns of city of Muğla. The interest on EVS program and to our Dance Club Association increased now,it is a big proof that many youngsters had information on former YiA program and EVS itself.
Our aim is to raise interest of our volunteers on tolerance and diversity by providing them an inter cultural environment, to help them to widen their perspectives by including them into decision making processes and creating an environment for them to share their experiences, skills.
As the town we are living in is cosmopolitan , there is a big diversity among the inhabitants during summer time. We are trying to focus on young people with social and economical difficulties in order to provide an opportunity for them to go abroad. For this reason we want to enable them to reach EVS Program easily.
EVS is a unique opportunity for young people to get to know other cultures and realize their potentials as unique individuals in another culture. It is also a strong tool to improve the social skills of young people. For these reasons, we want to start sending EVS volunteers abroad.
So far we had organized 2 long term (9months and 7 months) and 3 Short term (1 month) EVS projects and we hosted 64 volunteers in total.
