to underpin peacebuilding and conflict prevention;
to support local schoolchildren and students in their self-development process.
We implemented plenty of local projects in direction of our priorities; and in the framework of our projects, we collaborated with many international organizations and governmental bodies.

Participants with fewer opportunities

  • This organisation has a physical environment suitable for young people with physical, sensory or other disabilities (such as wheelchair access and similar.
  • This organisation has additional mentoring or other support suitable for young people with social obstacles, educational difficulties, cultural differences or similar.
  • Other experience, infrastructure and resources:

    As we have worked with the youth with disabilities, we have an experience in it. Additionally, before we started the projects with disabilities, our staff got training from a psychologist and developed approaches how to handle difficult situations and what kind of psychological support is needed. When it is necessary, we also consult with our psychologist friends or our Turkish partner who has more than 10 years of experience working with disabilities. Prior to any mobility, EVS coordinator of the project and mentors come together in order to make adjustments in the activity plan considering the profile of volunteers and their special needs. We also choose their accommodation on the first floor or place them in the in the building with a lift service to provide the safe and comfortable access. Furthermore, Sumgait Youth House where mainly activities will take place has a lift which makes easy access for people in a wheelchair.
