opis organizacji

The Lower Silesian Association for Children and Young People with Cerebral Palsy "Ostoja" was founded in 1993 by a group of parents of disabled children. Currently it takes care of almost 500 disabled children, youth and adults in our region. Our main aim is to help families upbringing disabled persons in many areas of life: education, rehabilitation, therapy and creating equal rights and life opportunities in Polish society. In five centres we run in Wroclaw and two in Sroda Slaska we employ professional staff who performs all kinds of therapy (physiotherapy, dogotherapy, logopedy, arttherapy, psychological, music therapy etc.) We also offer professional advice to parents of disabled children and organise trainings and meetings with parents to inform them about new methods of therapy. We are engaged in many projects that we work on together with volunteers, for ex. organising various parties and daytrips for children, youth, adults. Every year throughout summer we organise different camps in different parts of Poland(also abroad) for our clients. Apart from the professionals, local and international volunteers often go with us and work as animators and assistants. Such camps are often the only possible form of summer vacation for families of disabled people (due to high costs of this kind of camp).
