Bryson Charitable Group

description of organisation

Bryson Charitable Group is Northern Ireland’s leading social enterprise tackling major social and economic challenges. The Group operates through social business units all with the aim of Building Better Futures. Projects include those supporting vulnerable individuals, families and communities. Our main activities fall broadly into the categories of social care, environmentally beneficial projects and multi-culturalism and 108 years after we were established, volunteering continues to play an important part in the organisation.
Bryson Intercultural is under the Bryson Charitable Group umbrella and supports minority communities (including Roma and Irish Travellers) and asylum seekers with a range of practical support and activities, information and advice.
Bryson Charitable Group has been involved in hosting and sending European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteers since 1997, have hosted/co-ordinated over 120 volunteers and sent over 60 young people from Northern Ireland to projects across Europe and beyond. We are currently a Sending and Co-ordinating Organisation and, as part of the Intercultural Training Partnership, have been the Training Organisation for EVS. Through the years we have seen the enormous benefits of EVS, both to the volunteers themselves and to the local communities they work with.
