Stowarzyszenie Pomocy Socjalnej "Gaudium et Spes" (eng: Gaudium et Spes - Association for Social Welfare) is a non-profit organisation which takes care of the needs of disabled and older people. It was founded in 1997 by a group of professionals in social work. Their experience made the realisation of a lot of projects possible and led to the quick development of the organisation.

The organisation stands for joy and hope and its’ members orientate themselves and their work by these ideas. The main objective of Gaudium et Spes is to offer support and take care of people who find themselves in a difficult situation in life, people that are suffering from illness and/or a disability as well as their families.

The organisation established a few facilities in which social and occupational rehabilitation programs take place.
The respective program contents are targeting on the activation, the general involvement and the psychophysical development of the abilities of handicapped persons, as well as the preservation of the physical and psychological fitness of the elderly. Furthermore, the programs allow, support and enhance the independent functioning of the participants and improve life quality.

In the context of the Ergotherapy Workshops the organisation offers disabled persons 16 different workshops on the following topics: household, reeduaction, music therapy, plastic/sculptural art, tailoring, bookbinding, polygraphy and advertisements, cooking, textile cleaning, gardening, carpenting, museum, artistic craft, exhibition.
Besides that there is ergotherapy, psychological therapy, economical trainings and social integration seminars. The didactic methods used during workshop hours will heighten the possitive effects of the rehabilitation therapies.

Gaudium et Spes is a partner of Internationaler Bund Polska and a European Voluntary Service hosting organisation. Since 2008, it hosted over a dozen volunteers from France, Germany, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and Spain.

The cooperative work between Gaudium et Spes employees and their European volunteers became a part of everyday work and the volunteers often become important parts of the lifes of the disabled and elderly people at the organisation.
