description of organisation

The "World Net" association was born in 1999 on the initiative of a group of young people who pursue the clear intent of knowing and bringing cultures from different parts of the world through significant communication tools such as art, dance, popular traditions. Over the years, "World Net" became a structured associative reality, able to promote and realize its intercultural mission, giving rise to youth exchanges, festivals, meetings and training sessions for young people and adults: a particular attention was reserved, from our association, to engaging in every activity, people in disadvantage and marginality.
Our projects have been made possible thanks to our economic commitment, to which has been added funding by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Basilicata Region, but also by private sponsorships, municipal administrations and the European Commission.
World Net considers youth volunteering as a resource for society and for oneself, an experience of life and a hope for social cohesion at local, European and international level. The presence of many volunteers within our organization guarantees the present and future conditions for a more just and solidary society and an interest for the neighbor that is a cause for sharing and growth.
The skills learned in exchanges and intercultural dialogue experiences, as well as in training courses and social volunteering, make it a condition of personal and professional empowerment that enables the students to approach in a mature and competent way at the world of work .
The subject of volunteering and training activities implemented by World Net are:
- art and creativity, which are quick and effective tools to prepare young people for the future and realize social inclusion. Creativity contributes to social and individual well-being and economic prosperity. Supporting the creative energy of young people and their ability to innovate means helping them to develop their potential and find employment. Inclusion in cultural activities also contributes to the personal development of young people and their sense of belonging to the community;

- sport: it covers at least 4 major dimensions of human activity, namely health, education, social life, quality of life.
World Net makes sport an activity that enhances the different abilities, the different motivations, the differences of age and sex, the different way in which everyone can meet, integrate, know each other. As a means of growth, we place our educational and training value at the center of our activities;

- cultural heritage, popular traditions and digital marketing: we love to valorise places, traditions and cultural assets through the use of ICT. The digital innovation applied to processes of conservation, valorization, management, promotion, marketing and enjoyment of heritage, products and services in the art and culture market facilitates the upgrading of the cultural ecosystem and facilitates the comparison between the players in demand and supply to spread the culture of digital innovation and trace the evolutionary lines of the industry. All this translates into the potential to generate demand and labor supply and, consequently, the development of the territories and the decline of youth unemployment.
