At school there are about 146 pupils and 40 teachers. Tallinn Kadaka Basic School is school with Russian studying language. At school works student house, extended-day groups, groups of interest, in June - the summer holiday camp. Students accommodation in the house, professional services, training in circles for students are free.Objectives: - ensure mastery of basic knowledge, skills to cope in their own lives as much as possible - studying and developing the whole child, helping to plan his future path - rehabilitation exercise system during the training process, together with specialists- increase professional knowledge and skills of school staff, motivating and self-development activity - build a modern and secure learning environmentVolunteers have a lot to give to children. Certainly, it develops children's communication skills and provides an opportunity to become part of another country's culture and customs. Volunteers can work at lessons with a teacher, help children with their homework (for example primary school children can need help in math, nature). Also at school are a lot of differents events during the year (sport days, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical performances) where children with special education needs help. When events occur, or trips, they are also helpful, if necessary, raise children, to help maintain order. Also, volunteers can learn the Estonian / Russian. School children can learn to speak English, for example. The volunteer will work mainly at school during the lessons developing several activities and at students dormitory. The volunteer will support the preparation of teachers/educators with the daily activities and organizing activities and different events, show her creativity, manual and musical skills, will also be of assistance at meal time. More concrete tasks are:Taking part in learning activities in agreement with the teacher.Helping children with their homework.Being outdoors with the children: according to the weather (max. two hours) in the evening.Playing games, individual activities within the scheme except during organized activities.Also at school are a lot of different events during the year (sport days, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical performances) where children with special education needs help.When events occur, or trips, they are also helpful, if necessary, raise children, to help maintain order.The volunteer will learn the different approach and can share her vision and the vision and the working methods of her home country and will learn about all the aspects of teacher’s assistant’s and also principal’s work, Russian language, our everyday life and holidays, national festivities. Volunteer is also welcome to introduce her culture.
