Ars Viva Institute was established as a non-profit organization that operates in the public interest and in the public welfare. There are signed many experts from various fields: disabled people, artists, publishers, experts for art history and cultural heritage, social work, environmental protection, planning and management, theatre, ...Institute Ars Viva is located in the village Podcerkev and the municipality Loška valley. This is one of the most beautiful valleys of Notranjska, which consists a central part of Slovenian territory, whose center is Postojna. Unspoiled nature with lake Cerknica, Snežnik forests, one of the most beautiful caves - Križna cave, Snežnik castle, provides an opportunity for young people to be aware of the importance of health protection, social work, culture, getting in touch with the local population, education, work with people with disabilities, etc. The work of our institute is primarily focused on the cultural and social integration of different social groups at homeland and abroad. Here are present different genres of art such as painting, music, creating with clay, wood, sculpture, architecture. Within our programs we organize: expert thematic meetings, educating youngsters in schools about disability, painting with mouth, natural and technical days, promotion of good practices, providing advice and support to schools and local authorities for appropriate representation of disability, we also educate for culinary arts, dance, herbs, gardening, literature, cultural heritage, history and encourage intercultural dialogue between different groups, countries and races.When we talk about disability awareness, we can talk about our specific references, because the director of the institute is quadriplegic and also all the facilities, where our programs take place, are adapted for a wheelchair. We can offer our volunteer, who will be hosted all of the above, especially a good team for cooperation and a lot of opportunities to learn. We have different age groups of volunteers, who work with us - from the elderly to primary school, so we do not make the distinction.Volunteers will be staying in our hostel rooms. We will consider all the rights belonging to him under the law about volunteering and make sure that our volunteer will feel good in our environment. There are all the communications options including optical internet connection. Volunteers will be involved in the implementation of all our programs, participate in the implementation of European projects. They will be educating in the field of tourism and organization of cultural and educational events. Since our starting till today we helped at least five young person find their feet. With our activities we approached the local community many trainings, culture, and helped in solving social problems - and for this we received the highest municipal award.
