description of organisation

Language Academy Wales (LAW) is a non-profit organisation by guarantee formed in May 2015. LAW's office is located at 5 Museum Place, Cardiff City Centre , South Wales CF10 3BD. LAW is focusing on the promotion of languages, personal development and the International Mobility Programme through European collaborations and the Erasmus + projects. LAW's goal is to ensure that everyone willing to take part in a mobility exchange, training or internship programme in a foreign country are supported. We promote support for the social inclusion group and by raising awareness help in reducing discrimination. LAW is currently developing new partnerships with France, Italy, Poland and Asia exploring youth exchange and placement opportunities.LAW's mission is also to provide affordable, effective and accessible training to individuals of all ages throughout Europe enabling them to develop themselves and their potential (e.g. free CV writing training for young people, interview play role, how to present themselves for a job interview).LAW's target group, are young adults and especially young adults with fewer opportunities in Wales. LAW's core objectives:1. To promote and engage young adults in formal and non-formal education with a variety of inspirational and career developing training programmes.2. To encourage the mobility programme for young adults internationally with language development.3. To increase participation in mobility programmes internationally, increasing their skills and employability.4. To lessen the effects of formal and non-formal educational disadvantage on those worst affected.5. To increase young adults active participation in the community through volunteering. 6. To offer equal chances for mobility programmes for young adults with fewer opportunities.LAW is working closely with Career Change Wales Training Academy, (CCW), a sister company, to collaborate and to share experiences and infrastructure. CCW's knowledge, experience and successful track record working closely with the Welsh Government and local Careers Advisors for the past six years bring added value to LAW. LAW's directors, volunteers and trainers have expertise in the delivery of soft skills and vocational qualifications which enables learners to become more confident and increase their employability. LAW is currently developing non-formal educational methods which will make the participants feel at ease allowing them to enjoy their learning thus removing any learning barriers. LAW understands that every participant is an individual and their training is defined by this ethos by assessing each individual independently. As a new non-profit making company by guarantee, LAW will promote people's personal development among those with fewer opportunities, young and/or adults, encouraging them to invest in their future and in their careers. LAW will promote the social inclusion, the equal learning chances for young adults and the active participation of people in the local community.
