deskrizzjoni tal-organizzazzjoni

AMPI is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 and focused mainly on the development of local food, on solidarity-based initiatives and Food Sovereignty, and on environmental education in sustainable food systems in the Czech Republic as well as throughout Europe. Its main targets are to educate adults, youth and children alike in the environmental aspects of agriculture and food consumption, to provide guidance to farmers and consumers in setting up local food initiatives and social enterprises, to promote local food alternatives and perform research and studies in the field of sustainable farming and local food systems. Our team consists of local leaders and researchers who are involved in promoting and starting up of consumer-farmer local food initiatives in various parts of the Czech Republic. We stand behind the development of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects in the Czech Republic, whose total number has grown from 0 to 25 in the last 4 years. This has been due to sustained promotion, education and facilitation of the establishment of local initiatives. AMPI has been running its own garden kindergarten where kids are educated on a daily basis on the issue of soil, food and farming as well. Some members of the team are organic farming advisors, one is an organic farmer and the founder of the first community-led CSA farm in the Czech, and others are involved in research and also work at academic level. Our AMPI members are also connected to the national organic agriculture movement. On the international level, AMPI plays an active role in the Food Sovereignty movement, CSA movement and Access to Land network in Europe.

Specifically, AMPI is engaged in the following projects:
- Forest kindergarten for approximately 15 kids, operating 4 days a week and providing a daylong educational program for kids from 3-6 years of age, focused on intuitive and Waldorf pedagogy, with a specific focus on farming and gardening. The kindergarten is a certified kindergarten according to the national Association of Forest Kindergartens of the Czech Republic.
- Environmental education programs for schools focused on environmental protection, organic farming and food processing, traditions and seasonality. Every year about 3,500 children are educated within some 140 educational programs performed by our association (the programs including hands-on educational courses on farming and food production, nature conservation, edutainment theatre shows, etc.)
- Awareness-raising events for public on the environment and farming. Annually AMPI organizes some 20 major events (i.e. fairs, public events, lectures etc.) for adults and youth that reache roughly 3,000 people.
- International training events - annually approximately 10-15 people (mostly farmers but also activists or volunteers) are trained within our international exchange programs with partners from France, Germany, Hungary or Greece. Topics of the training courses comprise mainly Solidarity-based food systems and community building or Acces to Land.
- Local training events - annually AMPI organizes some 10 training events for local stakeholders on the issue of Community Supported Agriculture, with about 200 people taking part.
