description of organisation

The organization Jugendkulturarbeit e.V. (JKA) was founded in 1995. It deals with projects from the areas of dance, theatre, arts and music. In March 2012, it also started projects for non-formal political education (associated of AdB).Jugendkulturarbeit e.V. is an EVS sending, coordinating and hosting organization since September 2007.The association mainly works with people in their teens. The aim of our work is to give young people more self-esteem, self-confidence and self-awareness through the publication of their interests in arts.JKA works in different districts of the city and in cooperation with different educational centers, where our team leads theater and dance workshops for children and young people. The association is the owner of the “Internationale Jugendprojektehaus” (“International House for Youth Projects”) with a capacity of 60 beds, where different events and meetings are hosted, such as political trainings or youth exchanges. In the last years, JKA organized several youth exchanges with the support of the German National Agency with partners from all over Europe. And the organization was invited to several youth exchanges all over Europe, too. JKA has already organized exchanges with young people from South Africa and Germany and through the German-Polish- and German-French-Youth-Association it was possible to organize also bi- and tri-national theater youth exchanges.
