Foundation Istituto Morcelliano was restablished in 2001, though its origins are to be established in 1817. The activities of the Foundation are carried out in Oglio Nord-Western Commune of Province of Brescia, composed by 11 Commune, in total of 94.441 inhabitants in Lombardy region.
As a non-profit organization, our mission is to educate, help and support individuals, groups and the whole society, promoting initiatives in sector of training/development of minors and youngsters with a particular attention to individuals with social and economical problems.
At the very moment different projects (both national and international) are being carried out in our Foundation: EVS volunteer will ve involved in the following projects:
-Eurodesk - In January 2015 Istituto Morcelliano has become qualified as a Local Agency of Eurodesk Italy. In this case our Foundation becomes a trustworthy partner in Italy in implementation of mobility, education, training objectives for young generations throughout enormous projects realized with the support of European Commission and Italian National Agency for Youth. Eurodesk Italy is a nonprofit association created as support organization to the Erasmus+ programme (2014-2020). Here are the most comprehensive and most accessible sources of free youth information about learning mobility opportunities. Gaining a membership in Italian network of Eurodesk means that our foundation can benefit from continuously updated information about EU projects. One particular aim of Istituto Morcelliano is to organize events and researches, trainings and meetings, become a trustable center for Youth . We aim to improve the daily life of any youngsters of our territory involving them into social, economic and cultural life.
-CAG (from Italian acronym - Youth Aggregation ) including in it after school activities, gyms, workshops, labs and leisure time activities for kids (6-11 years), preteens and teens (12-15 years).
-Piano giovani (from Italian -Youth Plan): is a huge amount of activities organized for and by young people from 16 and more years. Here in Foundation these young people have found the right place for meeting, having a snack, sharing some thoughts and ideas, and for the most creative ones to express themselves by different workshops (e.g. theater, art and musical). Recently we have organized different musical events called ‘Bandfest’ where once in a month there were invited local bands to tribute popular Italian or world-famous stars.
In future our Foundation has the aim to become a Mentoring and Volunteering Centre for Youth. By becoming EVS Receiving, Sending and Coordinating Organization we eager to bring new values and skills into our reality, and give the chance to our local youngsters share their common skills overseas. We hope to maintain partnerships from each realized project and with these partners we will promote voluntary service.
The target groups of the foundation are local Community, Youth and Children.
The purpose of being accredited into Erasmus Plus projects are:
-bring more awareness and knowledge about European projects and EU values to the local Community
-promotion of EVS among national youngsters
-widen understanding of non-formal, formal and informal education system
-organize events for local Community
-increase opportunities for professional, social and cultural development of young people of our society
-European education
-increase motivation and willingness of participation of representatives of our country to EU projects.
-to promote active citizenship
The foundation is designed to support voluntary work at local and international level, by promoting social projects based on co-operation, solidarity and peace education.
