AIM Agenzia Intercultura e Mobilità (Intercultural and Mobility Agency) is an association made by a group of adult and young facilitators, born on 1st of April 2008, with the aim to create a bridge between formal and non formal education and follow the process of the recognition of the competences developed with informal experiences, international mobility and non formal activities. Along the years, AIM gained experience in various fields and gathers together a wide range of professional youth but also adults, mentors, teachers, educators and trainers who identify themselves with the non-formal methodology and practice it in schools, places of encounter and exchange carrying on with us the creation of a dialogue with formal and institutional environments. AIM is now a team with different trans-sectorial skills; training and facilitation; communication; social media management; videomaking and video editing; photography and art; events and European project design and management.
The methodology of non-formal education is the common basis that represents the philosophy of AIM approach to work and life.
The other key aspect is the internationalization of the implemented activities that, depending on the scope, always bring, as innovative element, the European or non-European dimension of openness to other cultures aims at building contamination and constructive dialogue. AIM is part of the Provincial Forum of Peace (Province of Rome). In 2012, AIM won the prize Aldo Fabris for the enhancement of human and social capital. From September 2011, AIM is accredited as a sending organization and coordination of volunteers in the framework of the European Voluntary Service of the EU, by the National Agency for the Youth in Action Programme. www.agenziagiovani.it. AIM promotes the so-called "Europe of opportunities and learning" through experience, learning by doing, networking and exchange. It believes in multilingualism, human rights and mentoring as a set of practices for inclusion and attention to those who suffer socio-economic, geographic and psycho-physical disadvantage. Since 2009, AIM is working within the European Public Space in Rome (www.ec.europa.eu/italia/spazioeuropa), co-managed by the Information Office of the European Parliament in Italy and the Italian Representation of the European Commission. During the school year a team of AIM facilitators guides school groups from all over Italy in a learning journey through participation in multimedia and educational modules on European citizenship to raise awareness, especially for children, young people and teachers, to the functioning of the EU and its policies, priorities and opportunities. Since 2012, AIM provides a person to support the Spazio Europa secretary' for the booking of the conference room by outside bodies and as support for school's visits. In 2013, AIM organized for the European Public Space: the first course for Teachers “Educate to European Citizenship " which had a great success with over 300 schools involved at national level. The course of training sessions and networking "Eu for young people" (http://www.ueperigiovani.eu ) structured on 4 meetings from November 2013 to January 2014 for young multipliers (communicators, European project designers and managers, entrepreneurs and public administrators). Over 600 young people under 36 have been involved, came from various parts of Italy representing hundreds of organizations, universities, enterprises, municipalities, associations and institutions. On September 26, 2013 AIM co-organized and co-managed the the event "Parleuropa, the rally of European languages" (http://www.parleuropa.eu/) funded by the Directorate General for Translation of the Italian Representation of the European Commission. A unique day which saw groups of people of all ages go through a tour created as a game for touring Rome with culture and language Institutes as stations involved in the organization of interactive quizzes, creative and non-formal with final prizes, including trips abroad. In previous years, always in the context of September 26, "European Day dedicated to languages and multilingualism ", AIM has facilitated non-formal education activities for citizens.In cooperation with Euroepan Parliament: AIM coordinated workshops during the event: “REACT4FUNDS, Fondi: utilizziamoli al meglio. Progettiamo insieme”. 14 February 2014, “La Sapienza” University of Rome.In 2014 we are going on with other training sessions for teachers in the framework of the European citizenship also including promotion of the Italian Presidency at the Council of EU, the European Elections 2014 and the opportunity for young people starting from school. We are planning also other meetings for young adults.AIM is partner of the Directorate for LLL in the E+ project "Breaking barriers", a key action 2
