Community Development & Continuing Education Institute
The Community Development & Continuing Education Institute (CDCE-I) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization and TVET institution established in Bethlehem in 2010, and licensed from the MoI, MoL, and MoEHE. CDCE-I operates with a firm belief in the values of pluralism, equality, good governance, civic participation, and human rights within the Palestinian society. The Institute seeks to improve the educational and socio-economic environment within its community in harmony with Palestinian national development plans, and through strategic partnerships with private, public, and civil sector institutions.

To contribute to the areas of youth and community development in the West Bank in general, and Bethlehem governorate in particular, through interventions promoting empowerment, institutional capacity building, and community development.

CDCE-I is committed to contributing to the development of the local Palestinian community by enhancing the integration of youth into the labor market, working towards sustainable development, and promoting citizens’ active engagement in public discourse. CDCE-I aims to achieve these goals through the implementation of programs & projects in the areas of capacity building, awareness raising, and advocacy, based on CDCE-I’s belief in the value of citizens’ active participation in the development process, and their equal right to access and benefit from all social resources and opportunities.

Flagship Activities (2017)
• Career Education & Career Guidance Services provided to secondary school students in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
• Media Sound & Light Diploma Program, a 500 hour TVET Level 2 program.
• Young Arab Voices, a debate program implemented in cooperation with the British Council.
• Rights LIVE, a project that has raised the awareness of Palestinians about their legal and human rights through drama and animation.
• Service Learning programs allowing youth to enhance their civic engagement by designing and implementing initiatives that serve the local community.
• Vocational Training programs that build the capacity of youth in multiple areas such as employment promotion, media, soft skills, computer skills, etc.
• Programs that enhance local government accountability and mechanisms for citizen oversight.

Our Team
The CDCE-I team is specialized in developing and implementing projects, youth interventions, and training programs. Team members hold certifications from local and international organizations in the subjects of entrepreneurship, life skills, debate, service learning, and career counselling. Additionally, CDCE-I has a database of 95 officially registered volunteers.
