Help make a difference to local communities

Travelling abroad is an indulgence. But, signing up to volunteer in places that need your hard work and support makes your travels really worthwhile. It's not just deprived communities who benefit from the help of volunteers; there are many opportunities available in various fields. Whether it's in healthcare, conservation, childcare, teaching, or helping refugees and the elderly, volunteer work is fundamental to local communities. International volunteering is a rewarding experience that enables you to give your time and effort to those who really need it.

Make New Friends

You might think that travelling alone is a daunting experience. However, volunteering gives the opportunity to meet new people from all over the world. Signing up to volunteer gives you independence and confidence, but you'll also leave with new friends for life!

Looks Great on Your CV

Going on holiday isn't a justifiable addition to your CV, but volunteering abroad is. It's a fact that employers are more impressed by candidates that have international voluntary experience than those who do not. By volunteering abroad, it shows that you are driven, you're independent and you're more culturally aware.

Learn New Skills

Aside from the CV-boost you get from volunteering abroad, it is also an opportunity to learn new skills. Depending on the work you are doing, many volunteers leave having accomplished tasks they could never have done before. Spending a lot of time in a foreign country also makes it easier to learn a new language as you are mixing with the locals, and being immersed in their way of life.

Low-Cost Travel Option

The expense of travelling can be brought down by volunteering abroad. Volunteering should not break the bank but make sure that you choose an organisation with genuine values to volunteer with. Unless you're lucky enough to have been chosen to take part in a fully-funded project, there will be a small fee to cover things like accommodation, food and admin costs. Volunteering goes hand-in-hand with travelling! You're not expected to work non-stop so you can still explore the sights around you when you have some time off.

It's Organised For You

Organising trips away can be stressful when you have so many things to plan and take into consideration. However, volunteering abroad takes away all that added stress. Reliable volunteering organisations take care of your travel arrangements, accommodation, meals, visas, potential vaccinations, and much more. So when it comes to leaving for your trip, you can relax and enjoy the rewarding experiences that international volunteering will bring.
