Where to go, what to do
Once you decide where to go, half the race is won. But how do you pick where to go? And once you’ve picked a place, how do you know what there is to do there? The best thing you can do is get as much inspiration as possible from everywhere possible – fill your screen with holiday destination galore! We've brought together some examples to help you do just that:
The CEO of Pinterest describes it as a "catalogue of ideas" to inspire people to "go out and do that thing" – is there anything more perfect for travel inspiration? You could search through general travel boards or start your own by pinning places you’d like to go or things you’d like to do. A new feature of Pinterest allows you to pin to a map – perfect for tracking your travels round the globe!
Being insta-famous is so hot right now, but wouldn’t you rather be Instagram-ing from somewhere hot? (Filters may distort how hot it actually looks; even Britain looks sunny with a 'Rise' filter on it...) The photo sharing social network has become an incredible source of photo travel blogs. Want to do as the locals do? USE-IT maps and websites are made by young locals, are not commercial, free, and up-to-date. They pride themselves on being no-nonsense tourist info for young people. So whether you want to know the best place to get your favourite drink or where to find a hidden gem of a nature park, trust the locals and USE-IT:
When in doubt – travel blog! There are some amazing travel blogs out there and a simple Google search of a country or area will bring you up tonnes of examples.
