Project description

CVT's Gloucestershire based communities are residential life-sharing centres for adults with learning disabilities and special needs. The Grange Village and Oaklands Park are part of the Association of Camphill Communities in the United Kingdom, which is itself part of the international Camphill Movement that has centres in twenty-three countries in Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia. The main activities of volunteers at CVT's Gloucestershire based communities consist in: - assisting with the cultivation of organic, biodynamic vegetables, fruit, and herbs; - maintaining the Grange Village and Oaklands Park estates; - animal husbandry and maintenance of farming facilities; - providing support and facilitating productivity in the workshops (pottery, wood workshop, basketry and bakery) while assisting in the development and production of goods; - participating (which may include designing, rehearsing, and performing) in cultural events and festival celebrations.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation and monthly food allowances as well as transport to and from Gloucestershire will be covered according to the EVS plan.

Training during the project

Pre-departure training in Germany, extensive on-site training through Camphill, 24-7 emergency number.

Volunteer profile

We are looking for a GERMAN volunteer between 18 and 30 years who is interested in working with people who have a disability. Assist in daily routine and work alongside i.e. in bakery, garden or organize cultural activites.
