Garden of Solidarity

Opis działania

Garden of Solidarity is an ESC team volunteering workcamp, which aims to support a local organic garden in the village of Zsámbok. Volunteers will have the chance to learn about agroecology, sustainable agriculture and community market gardening in practice. You will participate in daily work on the farm which includes sowing and germinating seeds and plants, harvesting vegetables, and performing garden maintenance while also getting to know in detail soil regenerating organic cultivation practices and human-scale farming. In addition to this you will have the chance to learn more about the challenges and opportunities within local food networks and find out more about the importance of social outreach and community building.

Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport

Ingredients for cooking from the organic garden will be provided for the volunteers and cooked by the volunteers. Accomodation: tents on the territory of the biogarden Travel cost is arranged and reimbursed in compliance with ESC rules.

Szkolenie w trakcie działania

Team-building sessions and preparation will be provided at the beginning of the camp. The volunteers will have the chance to learn about agroecology, sustainable agriculture and community market gardening both in practice and in theory. Mentoring will be provided as well during the event.

Profil uczestnika

We are looking for volunteers between the age of 18-30 who have the enthusiasm to take part in an extraordinary community volunteering experience. We would like to welcome volunteers who are motivated to work on a biogarden during summer time and learn more about sustainable agriculture from experts.
