Activity descriptionNaNet district's community center offers the residents of the charming Floß-Lend district in Graz a space for information, participation and community. It's a place for welcoming neighborhood. Our broad activity offer is aimed at increasing the quality of life in the neighborhood. NaNet’s main goal is to set up social networks in the community and foster civic engagement. Different activities are organised in order to share ideas, motivate neighbours to follow a healthy lifestyle or promote sustainability, for example, by developing a food sharing network and campaigns against food waste, keeping together a community gardening initiative or promoting a healthy and active life. The volunteer will assist the team in organizing community events, get in touch with people from different backgrounds and of different generations and take actions in sustainability and food sharing networks in order to reduce food waste. Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsJUKUS will provide the volunteer with a room at a student's dormitory. There is the opportunity either to use a provided bicycle to reach the organisation or to use public transportation (ticket provided). The locations are reachable by bus or tram. Food allowance is €250/month, pocket money €150/month.
Training during the activityThe Volunteer will be provided at least with an On Arrival Training and a Mid Term Training, organized by the Austrian National Agency. The volunteer will have the possibility to attend a German course.
