Activity description

The Local Development Agency of Alzira - IDEA is looking for a volunteer for a long-term volunteering activity in Alzira, Spain. If you are interested in non-formal education and working with youth, strive to share the good practices and want to improve your soft skills, then we would be glad to have you onboard. The project aims at reinforcing social cohesion within the EU. During 9 months the volunteer will be based at one of the formation centers in the city. They will have an active role in the implementation of various activities and will support the Center with everyday tasks (in communication, material preparation, social activities, language assistance, etc.) which would develop trust building, tolerance, and solidarity among young people. The volunteer will have the platform for implementing their ideas which encourage broader engagement of the students in EU projects and improve their sense of EU identity.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The accommodation is covered by the coordinating organization.The volunteer will share a fully-equipped flat with other participants and will have their own bedroom. The volunteer receives a fixed amount of a monthly support allowance and pocket money (180 and 150 Euros).

Training during the activity

The sending organization of the volunteer will share more information on the European Solidarity Corps volunteering programme. The volunteer will also participate in the on-arrival and mid-term trainings by the Spanish National Agency. In addition, the participant will have the opportunity to take Spanish classes 3 hours per week.

Participant profile

We are looking for an outgoing young person between 18 to 30 years old who has a drive for education, a specific interest in non-formal learning methods, and a passion for working with youth. The applicant must demonstrate a good level of English and/or Spanish, and should not have taken part in other European Solidarity Corps activities longer than 3 months.
