Activity description

The project will take place in Bystrzyca Klodzka/Poland in Lower Silesia region in non-governmental organization which is working with youngsters in the field of non-formal education. The volunteer who decides to work in our organization will have the opportunity to develop soft skills, learn how to work with youngsters and in an international office. MAIN ACTIVITIES AS A VOLUNTEER IN EFM: -Leading free conversation classes for local community; -Helping during YouthMaSter - Development academy (seminar for polish youngsters); -Preparing and leading presentation about different subjects (for example: - Country presentation, human rights, non – governmental organizations, - non verbal communication, stereotypes, creativity, etc.); -Helping in the EFM office with office work; -Making presentations in different schools in our region and around Poland.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will live in the volunteers’ house on the countryside. It takes around 20 minutes by bus to get to the office in Bystrzyca Kl.,where the EFM office is located. The accommodation will be in double rooms with shared bathrooms on each floor and a large equipped kitchen. There are washing facilities at the house and free wireless internet throughout. The volunteer will receive monthly allowance for food in the beginning of each month. Outside the house there is a small basketball court. Any transport in connection with the project will be covered by the receiving organization.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in an orientation training during the first week of the project organized by Europejskie Forum Mlodziezy (EFM). The volunteer will be also participating in the training organized by Polish National Agency of Erasmus+ Programme. Extra trainings will depend on the volunteer’s personal ideas and needs. If he or she needs special support to realize an idea within the project, it will be attempted to provide this training. General support is assured through the mentor.

Participant profile

We are searching for young people between 18-30 years old. The candidate for a place as a volunteer in the activities designed should be willing to integrate and socialize into a new culture and to show an open-minded behavior. He/she will have to be ready to learn how to cooperate and work in an international group. The applicant has to be enthusiastic about working with people that find themselves in a difficult situation and also should be flexible and willing to be innovative and to implement their own ideas. Specific qualities and skills are not required for the candidate to be selected.
