Volunteering at Seniorenresidenz Mirabell

Opis działania

Senioren Residenz Mirabell is a unique sheltered residential center, serving senior citizens who desire a high quality of service, comfort and security, as well as independence. It is located in the heart of Salzburg in direct neighbourhood to the Mirabell palace with its unique park area. It guarantees to its residents a health and nursing service round the clock, provided by well trained employees in the apartments, as well as in the separate high quality nursing home floor. Since January 2009 the Senioren Residenz Mirabell offers a special psychosocial support for people with dementia Alzheimer typus. A special approach is typical in the work with these people; we are working with Validation, a special communication-technique with mental people. It offers all essential features required for the residents ́ s convenience like – apartment cleaning service, laundry service, hairdresser, manicure/pedicure service, physiotherapy, guest accommodation, secretarial services, car parking.

Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport

A local standard accommodation (host family/ students dorm or apartment) is provided. The volunteer receives food money monthly from the host organization. Local transport is provided by the host organization.

Szkolenie w trakcie działania

The volunteer will have and on-arrival training as well as a mid-term training. All the costs are covered.

Profil uczestnika

The volunteer will be assisting the regular staff in planning and organizing the daily structure of activities and to accompany residents through these activities - to take part in discussion groups, creative design, games, "brain jogging", planning and organizing and accomplishing seasonal parties etc. The volunteer should be open minded with human skills, able and willing to communicate, interested to discover the experience and wide knowledge of the older generations.
